Hola , Menuda Aventura , El Paseo En Barca Me A Recordado Una Película De Los Años 80 , ( En España Se Título Los Albóndigas En Remojo 1984 Usa Robert Butler ) , Y Las Carreras De Los Coches Locos De Red Bull. Un Saludo.
I have visions of Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfus kicking toward the shore. Great story, Jeffrey. I've always wanted to go whitewater rafting...but then I remember I get seasick. And to be both seasick *and* terrified...it may not be quite right for me. Glad you both survived. xo
What a lovely memory beautifully told with the eternal optimism of an 18 year old! I shall remember the idea of 'clinging to the wreckage'. John Mortimer's books are on my huge list of books I will read one day.
Jeffrey! I am so excited about this upcoming river series. This story is visceral and absorbing. It brings me back to my own river adventures, as well as watching my oldest brother build a raft and set out to sea to paddle around the point in the north of Maine, only to be pulled out to deeper water by the current and saved by a lobsterman. There's little better to me than a story of kids and rafts and adventure. Thank you for this!
Beautiful. I also love the abstract theme of "struggling on rivers."
Here in Basel, people through their clothes in a 'fish' (wickelfisch) and float down the fast stream, attempting to avoid the bridges and large boats and get out before crossing the border. It's that defiance of the stress of it all that makes it fun I guess. :) I think you might like it.

What a fabulous tale, beautifully told. Thank you.
Love what you are doing -- the water literally and metaphorically layers the piece: Restacked as well.

Thank you, April! I really appreciate your being here and your kind words.
That was a wonderful story! Thank you!
Thank you, Brenda!
A lovely tale of derring-do with a backdrop of the Devon countryside. Nicely done. I love Exmouth in the winter - all that empty seafront...

What a fantastic story, well-told. Love the metaphor and I look forward to more. Oh the wreckages we cling to for better or worse.

"...and lived to tell the tale" is a most worthy position to find oneself in. Well done!
Bravo! I'm glad you survived. And wonderful references to others' works. Thank you.
Thank you, Sue!

“Except for our pride, we were unharmed.” — gold!
This was a fun read :)
