Wonderful interview, Jeffrey and Diane - I especially appreciated hearing about her experience with rejections, and how she just kept going. You do reach a point where you sort of give up on that avenue, but it's helpful to hear that someone was successful after persisting. It's also helpful to know that feedback can be constructive and that it's not the end of the world when you have to revise something that you spent so much time on. I think it was Benjamin Percy in "Thrill Me" who said that the difference between someone who isn't going to get published and someone who is is that the former will only delete a few words here and there while editing, while the latter deletes whole chapters, whole characters, and isn't afraid to start from scratch.
