“I've actually explored doing crochet poems where the pattern is based on a rhyme scheme. That's pretty fun to do.”

What an idea.😊

What a grand interview. I love the poem, Tegan, and the way an idea comes to you. That's how it works and we've got to follow the unknown, the gods, who send the whisper.

"The mountains that generated this idea of singing over a hillside..."

Wouldn't you just love to hear such a thing?

Seems like it would be beautiful :)

Cool profile, Jeffrey - reminds me of Silbo Gomero, the whistle "language" of the Canary Islands that was also used to communicate over long distances...

Thanks, Troy. Goodness, you've just reminded me of that. I used to live in Tenerife, a lifetime ago...

You’re welcome Tegan! Love how you integrate Hakka language or symbols? in the poem.

Love the use of multilingualism and whole concept of the mountain songs, Tegan! I used to bring some students students to Peel Street Poetry once or twice a year. Such a wonderful group and initiative! I’ll check out more of your links. Thanks for this great interview, Jeffrey.

Thank you Tegan and Jeffrey, for the beautiful poem and the interview. It reminds me of my trip to stay with my son-in-law’s grandparents in the mountains in Gansu province. I clearly remember surveying the silent landscape, thinking that if I called out, people on the opposite mountain would hear me.
